Various places in Germany appeal to me greatly because of their characteristic, picturesque architecture. In this particular case, it is the distinctive half-timbered façades that inspired me. Historic buildings like these often encourage me to create my own interpretation on paper. It was a highly complex challenge to capture the entire composition in the correct perspective while balancing the contrasts created by the surrounding nature. In doing so, I succeeded in creating a harmonious balance between the townscape and the natural environment.
